Summer 2012 Trends: How to Wear Neon

 I would say this is a pretty complicated one, if you go overboard you could look like you escaped from an 80's time capsule (not really fun). Even though it's complicated that shouldn't stop you from rocking this look. Personally, I think that there are some rules or tips to be followed when it comes to this trend.

• My first tip would be to pick one area that you want to highlight, meaning you either wear a top or a bottom. For example, if you're going to the beach, you might want to pair some neon shorts with a white tee and some neutral sandals. You might also want to try the inverse, a breezy neon top with a more subdued short. The important thing is to make sure you emphasize only one item and choose items that will complement it. 
• Another tip, if this trend scares you, is to play with accessories. This is actually my favorite way to wear this trend and I've found myself really gravitating towards neon accessories. The most common way of doing this is shoes. A neon shoe (or any other accessory) can really add a pop of color and interest to a monochromatic outfit.

However, the most important thing of all is to have fun with it. Fashion is supposed to be about taking risks so don't be afraid to try something new.
